Drooly (sic) dolphins, escapist fantasies, surrealistic, inedible meals, are just a start to describe a diverse choir of new artistic voices. Ellipsis… offers an acoustic prairie of Russian Dadaist experimentation. Poetry and images that participate with semiotics go on to intersect with bucolic vignettes that were seemingly stolen from a rustic hunting cabin. Intimate embroideries seek to becalm melancholy or sooth the layered infernos of a difficult past and share spaces with the rejection and re-education of the Eurocentric ideals.
The 15 artists provide new interpretations that evoke change and social practice from diverse disciplines; including experimental, traditional, digital and sound installations. Both the practice of focusing ideas to dovetail with mastery of tools, methods and attentive technique bring about works that rarely are singular in approach and medium. They do sing out to invite a discovery of the temperature and pulse of our present zeitgeist.
